Data Synthesis Informing Quality Improvement

An innovative research project, funded by the Health Foundation. The study is investigating how hospital data can support organisational resilience and improve care. Currently metrics are normally analysed separately, meaning that analysis of the relationships between indicators or of the conditions that lead to unsuccessful outcomes is not possible. Furthermore, adaptations to practice, such as escalation, transferring staff, are generally not captured in existing systems. Our objective is to join these metrics and adaptations together to produce a working model of performance that is robust and can be used to make clear predictions and guide decision-making.
